Games, fellowship, and community celebration

Jesus looked out at the crowds and was moved by their need for a shepherd—a guide, a gathering point, a sense of belonging. This Sunday, we gather too, though not in our sanctuary. Instead, we meet at Leitersburg Park for Holy Eucharist at the picnic pavilion, followed by a feast and fellowship. The picnic is not separate from our worship; it flows from it. When we break bread together, when we play games and share stories and simply enjoy one another’s company, we are enacting the Gospel itself. The harvest of which Jesus speaks is not distant or abstract—it’s the love of the people beside us, the bread we share, the laughter around a table. We gather as one parish family, led by the same compassion Jesus showed the crowds. Come early, stay late, bring your hunger and your joy. Welcome the stranger. Welcome one another. Welcome Jesus.
